A VMU Pro graffiti tool built with loud colours, sharp attitude, and proper Dreamcast style. Design custom tags on VMU Pro, export them straight to your VMU on the SD Card, and have Jet Set Radio read them like legit downloaded graffiti and spray them in-game.

How it works

Pocket Tag lets you design graffiti on the VMU Pro, export it as a standalone VMU image entry, and have Jet Set Radio / Jet Grind Radio pick it up natively through the in-game graffiti download menu.

  1. Design a graffiti tag using the stamp editor or pixel editor.
  2. Export it to the SD card as a VMU image entry.
  3. The game sees it as downloaded graffiti.
  4. Use your custom tag in-game.

  • Dual-layer canvas — transparency mask + colour layer, matching the original graffiti format.
  • Stencil mode — browse a categorised stamp library, pick colours, and build tags fast.
  • Pixel mode — free-form drawing with 1x1, 2x2, and 3x3 brushes plus eraser.
  • 8-colour palette — Red, Blue, Yellow, Green, White, Black, Orange, Pink.
  • Three tag sizes — Small, Large, and Extra Large.
  • Region support — US, PAL, and JP naming handled correctly.
  • VMU tag manager — list, export, edit, and remove graffiti entries.
  • Progress bar — live JPEG encoding feedback during export.
  • Lua baseline JPEG encoder — 4:2:0 chroma subsampling and SEGA copyright COM marker included.
