The thing that makes PSO: Pocket different

MAG Lab is a standalone mode accessible from the title screen that lets you import MAG data from Dreamcast PSO Version 2 saves, raise that MAG inside PSO: Pocket, and then export the updated MAG back to the save.

That means your handheld runs aren’t just self-contained side content. The meseta you earn in Pocket feeds into a proper Dreamcast-connected loop: play, earn, buy feed items, raise your MAG, sync it home.

Portable progress with a real destination

Most fan projects stop at inspiration. MAG Lab goes further by giving PSO: Pocket a direct relationship with a real Dreamcast PSO save. That makes the feature feel less like a novelty menu and more like a second half of the game.

Load VMU MAG data, buy items from the Feed Shop, feed up to the current limit, trigger evolutions, and then write the MAG back out to the Dreamcast save.

Why multiple saves matter

MAG Lab supports multiple Dreamcast saves, which matters because MAG evolution in PSO depends on the class and Section ID of the character feeding it. If you are aiming for a specific form, loading the right save can make the difference between getting the evolution you want and landing on something else entirely.

That means MAG Lab is not just a convenience feature — it gives players a practical way to work toward class-dependent MAG outcomes using the save that fits the build they are chasing.

Why is MAG Lab asking for my serial?

PSO save files are encrypted using your Dreamcast PSO serial and access key. MAG Lab needs that information so it can correctly decrypt the save, read and modify the MAG data, and then re-encrypt the save when it writes the updated MAG back out.
