Run the dungeon. Bank what matters. Come back stronger.
PSO: Pocket is a portable roguelite inspired by Phantasy Star Online. Every run is a gamble between pushing deeper for better drops or retreating to safety with what you have already earned.
Pick a class. Enter the dungeon. See how far you get. Fight through Forest, Caves, Mines and Ruins, clear rooms, crack open item boxes, learn techniques, face bosses, and decide whether to bank your progress or risk everything for one more floor.
Pocket dungeon runs
Death is harsh, but not total. Lose a run without a Scape Doll and your carried inventory is gone — but your long-term progress stays with you.
- Push deeper for EXP, meseta, loot and rarer drops
- Bank weapons and meseta between floors to keep them safe
- Spend saved meseta on permanent upgrades and supplies
- Return stronger after every run, even after a wipe
Feed your Dreamcast MAG
MAG Lab turns Pocket runs into fuel for your Dreamcast companion. Earn meseta in the main game, move into the lab, buy feed items, raise your imported MAG, then sync the updated data back to your Dreamcast save.
- Scan VMU save files and pull in compatible MAG data
- Use meseta earned in PSO: Pocket to fund feed items
- Feed, evolve and manage MAG stats away from the main game
- Sync the updated MAG back out to the Dreamcast save
Bring a friend into the dungeon
The whole game is now playable in 2-player co-op — same dungeon, same boss arenas, shared drops, fully synced fights. Talk to the multiplayer NPC in Pioneer 2 to host or join.
Play with anyone, anywhere
Pick a region, host a public room, share a private code with a friend, browse open rooms, or auto-join a random match. The lobby shows a live count of open rooms so you know whether to host or jump in.
- EU and US servers — pick the closer one for a smoother feel
- Public rooms anyone can join, or private codes for friends
- Auto-join with class matching for balanced parties
- Predicted enemy motion keeps the action snappy across the world
Wireless co-op, no internet needed
Two VMU Pros in the same room pair directly over wireless — no Wi-Fi, no router, no setup. Walk up to a friend, both pick Local at the multiplayer NPC, and you're in the dungeon together.
- Zero-config pairing between two nearby VMU Pros
- Works anywhere — train, café, sofa, away from any network
- Same shared dungeon, drops and boss fights as the online mode
- Drop in for a quick run and back to single-player whenever
Co-op essentials, regardless of mode:
- Drops appear on the floor — first one there grabs the loot
- EXP and progression are tracked per player based on the hits you land
- Telepipes drop a portal either player can use
- Moon Atomizers revive a downed teammate when used near them
- Boss attacks track both players, party wipes warp you back to the hub together
- Cross-class loot rolls so you can experiment or share with your partner
What survives every run
The dungeon resets. You don’t. Even when a run falls apart, PSO: Pocket keeps the things that make the next attempt stronger, safer and more interesting.
- Your MAG — its stats, evolution stage and long-term growth stay with you
- Your bank — weapons and meseta stored at the Bank NPC remain safe
- Your upgrades — permanent HP, ATK, DEF and TP boosts carry over forever
- Your technique mastery — spells improve through use and never reset
- Your difficulty progress — once a tier is unlocked, it stays unlocked
- Your wallet — earned meseta continues funding future runs and MAG Lab
Between-run systems that keep the loop moving
Between dungeon runs, Pioneer 2 gives you the tools to stabilise progress, prep for the next attempt, and decide how brave you want to be on the next trip out.
- Shop — buy consumables, materials and permanent stat upgrades
- Bank — stash weapons and meseta before pressing deeper
- Guild — track progress and unlock the road ahead
- Teleporter — jump to unlocked areas and difficulty tiers
